PLAYRO PRIVACY PROMISE: We never sell your personal data to third-party advertisers. Your gaming identity is yours alone. We use industry-standard encryption to protect your squad communications.

1. INTRODUCTION

At PLAYRO, we treat your privacy like we treat our K/D ratio: seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

By using Playro, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you disagree with any part, please discontinue use immediately.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

We collect information to provide a seamless, skill-based matchmaking experience. Here's exactly what we gather:

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

Your data powers the Playro ecosystem. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Matchmake: Connect you with gamers of similar skill and playstyle.
  • Personalize: Show you relevant game lobbies and friend suggestions.
  • Protect: Detect and ban toxic players, cheaters, and bots.
  • Improve: Analyze crash reports to fix bugs in the next patch.
  • Communicate: Send you service announcements, beta invites, and Pro membership receipts.
WE DO NOT: Use your private messages for advertising purposes. We do not scan your chats for marketing keywords.

4. DATA SHARING & THIRD PARTIES

We limit sharing your data. We only share in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers — trusted partners contractually bound to keep your data confidential:
    • Supabase — database, authentication, realtime, storage and backend infrastructure
    • Google AdMob — banner advertising on free accounts (see Section 5 for details)
    • Brevo (Sendinblue) — transactional email delivery (welcome, confirmation, password reset)
    • RAWG — game catalog and metadata used for game discovery
    • Google (OAuth) — optional Sign in with Google authentication
    • Expo / EAS — application builds, over-the-air updates and push notification delivery
  • Legal Obligations: If required by a valid court order or to prevent imminent harm.
  • Business Transfers: If Playro is acquired, user data may be part of the assets transferred.
  • With Your Consent: If you choose to link your Discord or Twitch account publicly on your profile.

5. ADVERTISING, COOKIES & TRACKING

📺 Banner Advertising via Google AdMob

Free Playro accounts may see banner ads served through Google AdMob, Google's mobile advertising network. To deliver and measure these ads, AdMob receives your device's Advertising ID (a resettable, non-personally-identifying identifier), approximate IP-based location, and basic device information.

Google may use this data to:

  • Limit ad frequency (so you don't see the same ad repeatedly)
  • Detect and prevent ad fraud and invalid traffic
  • Show contextually or personally relevant ads, depending on your consent and region

Because Playro's minimum age is 13, AdMob is configured with a maximum ad content rating of "Teen" (T) and the tag for users under the age of consent flag enabled, so ads served are age-appropriate and comply with GDPR-K and COPPA requirements.

🛑 How to Opt Out or Limit Personalized Ads

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
  • EEA, UK & Switzerland: When required by GDPR / Google's User Messaging Platform, you will be presented with a consent form on first launch. You can change your selection at any time from the device's Google Ads settings.
  • Playro Pro subscribers: see no ads at all — no Advertising ID is shared with AdMob for Pro accounts.

🍪 Web & Analytics

The Playro website (playro.app) uses essential cookies and lightweight analytics to understand traffic. The Playro mobile app does not use browser cookies; it relies on anonymized identifiers for fraud prevention and crash reporting only.

6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you have specific rights:

You can download a copy of your Playro data or permanently delete your account directly in Settings > Privacy > Data Manager.

🇪🇺 GDPR (Europe & UK)

Right to rectification, restriction of processing, and data portability.

🇺🇸 CCPA (California)

Right to know what personal information is sold/shared (Note: We don't sell it) and right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

7. DATA SECURITY

We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Playro's minimum age is 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. For users aged 13-17, we operate an age-aware safety system that separates minors from adults in matchmaking and chat to reduce the risk of inappropriate contact. Where local law requires parental consent for users under 16 (for example, in some EEA countries), we rely on the user's representation at signup that such consent has been obtained. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with information without your authorization, please contact support@playro.app for immediate deletion of the account and associated data.

9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Playro is a global gaming network. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our servers are located (e.g., AWS regions). We ensure adequate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place for such transfers.
