Child safety standards
Our commitment
Playro is built for gamers aged 13 and older to find compatible companions for the games they play. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including the creation, possession, solicitation or distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Anyone who attempts to use Playro to harm a child will be permanently banned and reported to the appropriate authorities.
How we prevent harm
- Minimum age 13. Accounts cannot be created with a declared age below 13. Where local law requires parental consent for users under 16, we rely on the user's representation at signup that such consent has been obtained.
- Age-aware safety system. Users aged 13–17 are kept separate from adults (18+) in matchmaking and chat by default, reducing the risk of inappropriate contact between minors and adults.
- Text-only chat with content filtering. Playro chat does not support image, video or audio uploads. Messages pass through automated filters that block links, slurs and attempts to share personal contact information.
- Invite-gated conversations. Users cannot send unsolicited direct messages. Chat is only enabled after both parties accept a connection request.
- Rate limiting and abuse heuristics. Mass-invite patterns and repeat reports trigger automatic temporary blocks and human review.
- Block and report tools on every profile. Every user profile in Playro has an in-app option to block, remove, or report a user — with categories specifically for child safety concerns.
- Daily moderation review. Reports are reviewed daily. Confirmed CSAE incidents result in permanent bans and escalation to authorities.
How users report a safety concern
- In the Playro app, open the user's profile or chat screen.
- Tap the menu icon (⋯) in the top-right corner.
- Select Report user and choose the category that matches your concern (for child safety issues, select Inappropriate contact with minors or Sexual content involving minors).
- You may add context. The report is sent to the moderation team for immediate review.
- From the same menu you can also Block the user, which prevents further contact while we review.
In-app reports are routed to a moderation queue reviewed daily. Confirmed CSAE reports are escalated within 24 hours and may result in account termination plus referral to law enforcement.
Designated contact for child safety matters
For inquiries from law enforcement, child-safety organisations, or anyone reporting CSAE/CSAM that cannot be filed through the in-app tool, contact us directly:
safety@playro.app
We aim to acknowledge receipt within 24 hours and act on confirmed reports within 72 hours.
Compliance with the law
Playro complies with all applicable child-safety laws in the jurisdictions where the app is distributed. When we identify content or conduct that constitutes CSAM, attempted exploitation of a minor, or other reportable conduct, we:
- Preserve the relevant evidence in accordance with applicable law.
- Report the incident to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, where required.
- Cooperate with regional and national authorities, including responding to lawful requests for information.
- Permanently terminate the offending accounts and prevent re-registration where technically feasible.
Policy review
This policy is reviewed at least annually and whenever a relevant law or platform requirement changes. The most recent revision date is shown below. The latest published version on this URL is the authoritative version.
